MY STORY

Lavanya Ullas.jpg

My journey with photography started over a decade ago and maybe a familiar one - me desperately attempting to do justice documenting my travels. But it was on a trip to Jordan in 2009 that I distinctly recall falling in love with the viewfinder.

Since then, with my camera in tow, my itchy feet have taken me from the fjords in New Zealand to the steppes in Mongolia, from couch-surfing hosts in Iran to riding the Transiberian rail through Russia.

Over the past decade, through work and life, I've also had the incredible opportunity of calling Dubai, France, Poland and Singapore, home.

After nearly a decade away, I made the move back home to India, to a city that feels and is, both familiar and foreign to me at the same time- Bombay.

In my pictures I find myself drawn towards people, food and nature- all things which bring me immense joy.

You can find some of my published work here along with my personal photo essays.
